Our State-mandate is to provide adaptive home phone equipment and Bluetooth accessories for cell phones to help people with hearing, vision, mobility, speech or cognitive difficulties stay connected and communicate with their community, family and friends. All equipment is provided free after a short application is signed by a medical professional. There are no age, income or insurance requirements or restrictions.

Access Wireless serves the community by providing mobile phone service to income-eligible residents as part of the government-funded Lifeline Assistance program. Lifeline is intended to help individuals experiencing financial hardship stay connected to family members, schools and child care providers, as well as be reachable to potential employers and have a means of communicating in case of an emergency. Access Wireless provides qualifying customers with a free monthly allotment of minutes, text messages and data.

MULTIPURPOSE SENIOR SERVICES PROGRAM (MSSP)

Multipurpose Senior Services Program (MSSP) provides social and health care management for frail elderly clients who are certifiable for placement in a nursing facility but who wish to remain in the community. The goal of the program is to arrange for and monitor the use of community services to prevent or delay premature institutional placement of these frail clients. The services must be provided at a cost lower than that for nursing facility care.

Resources for Independent Living promotes the socioeconomic independence of person with disabilities and seniors by providing peer supported, consumer directed independent living services and advocacy.  RIL provides 7 core services: Advocacy and Legislative Monitoring; Housing; Personal Assistance Services; Information and Referral; Peer counseling; Independent Living Skills training; and Assistive technology.
