Alzheimer’s Association is a voluntary health organization specializing in Alzheimer's care, support, and research with a mission to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research, to provide and enhance care and support for all affected, and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health. Our services include: 24-hours/7 days per week telephone help line, education programs, support groups, care consultations, respite grants, professional training, safety services, research study matching service and online resources. Our services are for those with Alzheimer’s disease, other dementias and mild cognitive impairment; unpaid caregivers; professionals; and the general community. The vast major of our services are free and we have scholarships available to persons with dementia and/or family caregivers, when needed.

Arthritis Support Group provides a network of others living with arthritis to find support. The purpose is similar condition is to take comfort in the experiences of others in this support group.

DEL ORO CAREGIVER RESOURCE CENTER

Del Oro Caregiver Resource Center (Del Oro) is a private non-profit agency funded through the California State Department of Health Care Services and Agency on Aging/Area 4.  We are here to improve the well-being of family caregivers and provide support throughout the caregiving process.  Families and caregivers of brain impaired adults and the frail elderly are invited to contact Del Oro.

Dementia Caregivers Support Group offers support group for families, including children and spouses, and caregivers of Dementia sufferers. Dementia Caregivers Support Group is for families and caregivers of dementia sufferers, not for those with dementia themselves. Group meets the third Wed. of every month, 10am-noon. Outa Sight Group of Woodland, Inc., is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization made up of visually impaired and blind adults.  We serve other blind and low-vision persons and mutually support one another.  Our goal is to learn independent living skills in order to enhance our lives.  We also develop and identify resources for the sight-impaired in our community, and we advocate for disability rights. Established in 1984, we offer free services, training, support groups, speaker series.

Elders explore together aspects of the conscious aging movement, seeking to mine the wisdom from their long lives and to find effective ways to share and pass on their legacy. Meets 2nd Thurs each month, 10:15-11:30am, Blanchard Rm, Mary L. Stephens Davis Branch Library. All programs are free.

Yolo Cares provides social support services to clients over age 60 and their family caregivers including in-home respite and Saturday Club Adult Day Program.

 

Hospice: Individualized plans of care, and support connecting with other community services, all delivered in a spirit of loving service. Yolo Cares offers bereavement and grief services including group and individual support to any member of our community who has lost a loved one, regardless of whether the loved one was a Yolo Cares patient. All clinical and grief services are provided at no charge.

UC DAVIS CAREGIVER EDUCATION AND SUPPORT PROGRAM

UC Davis Caregiver Education and Support Program provides information and resources, monthly support groups, quarterly classes and special events to campus employees, students and retirees. Senior care providers and certified advisors available to employees through Care Advantage Years Ahead.  General public is welcome to attend quarterly classes space permitting.
